LA Times Article on the Iliad

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

There’s an excellent article in the LA Times (March 6, 2010) about the Iliad Bookshop. Written by Ann M. Simmons (who came by and soaked up the atmosphere and history of our store), the article is a welcome relief from the Times tendency to feature stories of major bookstore closings.

We’d like to thank Ann and the Times for writing such a good article and for focusing on bookstore success stories. And, of course, thanks to all of our customers for helping make Iliad the growing and successful used bookstore that it is.

And isn’t that picture of Zola on the front page of the article cool?

Animal Farm 1st

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Last year I read ANIMAL FARM for the first time (no, I don’t know how I missed it in school either!) and loved it. Then today we got this in: A first American edition of the book in original jacket. I’m kinda floored by this…and sorely tempted to buy it myself. Hopefully someone will remove the source of temptation soon…!
